304 and 316 are the codes of stainless steel. In essence, there is no difference between them. They are all stainless steel. They are divided into different types. To put it simply, the quality of 316 stainless steel is higher than that of 304 stainless steel. 316 stainless steel incorporates metal molybdenum on the basis of 304. This element can further strengthen the molecular structure of stainless steel, making it more resistant to abrasion and oxidation. Corrosiveness has also greatly increased.
First, the biggest difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel is the market application. The price of 304 stainless steel is relatively low. It is usually used in daily life, kettles, chopsticks, and so on. The price of 316 stainless steel is relatively high. Although some of it is used in daily life, most of it is used in medical or heavy industrial equipment.
Second, price. The price of 304 stainless steel is very different from that of 316 stainless steel, and the price of the latter can be twice as high as the former. So whoever has a 316 mark on the wall of the kettle, this kettle is expensive.
Third, their element grades are different. The Chinese element corresponding to 304 stainless steel is 0Cr18Ni9; the Chinese element corresponding to 316 stainless steel is 0Cr17Ni12Mo2.
